- The Original "Über-Mercedes"
- Great performances
- Discreet and powerful
- No reserve
The Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6,9 was the top of the line. Introduced in 1972, it was based on the long-wheelbase version of the W116 chassis and mostly aimed at top-executives. Powered by the enormous 6,9 litre, 286 bhp engine, it was without doubt the 70s ultimate "Autobahn courier" and it could only be distinguished from the normal S-class cars through a little 6,9 badge on the boot-lid.
Originally sold new to German steel pipe maker Rudolf Flender KG, it was exported then exported to Sweden where it has been in a private collection for a long time. Well-maintained but with having hardly been used as it has only covered 80km since 1991. Total mileage is 190,000 km and the car is all original. It is fitted with the optional hydro-pneumatic suspension, air conditioning and has the original Blaupunkt radio and a sun-roof. Even the original jack comes with the car.
