Beschreibung

"This car can be viewed in person from 14th to 18th July 2020 at our the auction site, Windsorview Lakes, Datchet, SL3 9HY
The W108 was premièred at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 1965. The initial model line-up consisted of 250 S, 250 SE, and 300 SE. Engines for the new car were carried over from the previous generation but enlarged and refined. The 250 S was the entry level vehicle fitted with a 2496cc straight-six M108 engine, delivering 130 bhp, which accelerated the car to 60mph in 12 seconds, and gave a top speed of 120 mph. The 250 SE featured an identical straight-six, but with a six-plunger fuel injection system. Approximately 130,000 of the SE models were built during the first two years of the W108's existence.
This very good righthand drive Mercedes-Benz 250 SE Saloon was supplied new to Ella M. Frances on 17th January 1967 by B.E.A. Motors Pty. Ltd of King William Street, Adelaide, Australia. It remained in her sole ownership in Maitland, New South Wales for over 50 years until her passing a few months ago. Having only one owner from new, the odometer reading of 12,000 km is believed to be correct judging from the overall condition that the car is in. The current owner purchased this 250 SE direct from the deceased estate and has imported it recently to the UK, where it has been issued with a NOVA certificate and an MoT test certificate. With the Australian registration document, it is ready to be registered in the UK in the new owner’s name. Finished in white with brown interior this Mercedes-Benz comes with the original warranty paperwork, various South Australia registration certificates and the original handbook pack containing all the correct books with the exception of the service book which has been lost. This is a rare opportunity to buy a 1960’s classic car which, uncommonly, has only ever had one owner.
The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day."
