Reserved for its most performance-focused models, the Black Series treatment was bestowed by Mercedes-Benz for a sixth—and, to date, most recent—time upon the AMG GT coupé in 2020.

While the track day hero gained far more aggressive aerodynamics, a drag-reduction system, new suspension, and greater use of carbon fibre, the headline change was found under the bonnet. The engineers in Affalterbach revised the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V-8 with the major pivot to a flat-plane, rather than cross-plane, crankshaft. A new firing order and higher rev limit resulted in 730 horsepower being sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for a 3.2-second launch to 100 km/h and a 325 km/h top speed.

The example offered here was purchased by its single private owner in Switzerland in August 2022. It wears the striking shade of AMG Magma Beam. The orange exterior hue is contrasted by a carbon fibre roof panel, bonnet cooling ducts, twin-tier rear wing, splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser, while the boot lid presents in gloss black. Meanwhile, the focused interior is predominately trimmed in black Dinamica suede and Nappa leather.

The car benefits from the February 2025 installation of paint-protection film by FoilXpert in Kerns, further to a most recent service performed in February 2025 by official Mercedes-Benz dealership Walter Hasler AG in Frick (invoices available to view on file). Sparingly driven since delivery, the GT Black Series displayed just 2,320 kilometres on its odometer at the time of cataloguing. It is accompanied by its owner’s guides in their folio.
