Beschreibung

"The W123 compact range of Mercedes-Benz cars, introduced in January 1976 and in production for the next decade, was significantly safer, better equipped and more refined than its predecessors. It became the most successful model to wear the famous 'Three Pointed Star' with more than 2.6 million examples hitting the road before being replaced by the W124 in 1985. Sold in both four-cylinder (200/230) and six-cylinder (250/280) versions, along with an extensive range of diesels, the W123 was available in both saloon and estate guises and in keeping with tradition, a stylish two-door coupé was also available. On a shorter (2710mm) wheelbase, the W123 coupé featured more luxurious interior appointments, power steering as standard and the 280 CE model, with its fuel injected twin-cam 2.8 litre six-cylinder engine, topped out the range. Built in relatively small numbers between 1977 and 1985, the 280 CE offers surprisingly strong performance, together with typical German build quality and safety at an affordable price.
This very nice example is presented in Signal Red with a grey cloth interior, front and rear headrests, and electric windows. The current owner purchased the car almost three years ago and has spent circa £15,000 on it this year which included work on the bodywork and paintwork, which now looks very good. The car comes with an extensive history file including a workshop manual and invoices amongst other paperwork. We are informed the car drives very well and is in excellent overall condition."
