Unregistered

- Upscale Mathis, unusual model
- Elegant body
- Six-cylinder engine
- No reserve

The cars of Emile Mathis, a manufacturer from Alsace, similar to Andre Citroen, were very successful in the 1920s and 1930s. He was conceiving light weight cars ("weight is the enemy"), and was known for his small displacement models, but at the same time, he knew how to complete the range with luxury models, featuring a six-cylinder engine, and sold under the name of "Emysix". It is a model of this type that we have the pleasure to offer here in a stylish faux cabriolet body, well proportioned and appearing to be complete with its lamps and equipment. The interior is also complete, with cloth seats and a dashboard with all instruments. Under the hood is a 2-liter six-cylinder side-valve engine, with its accessories. The rather optimistic advertising from the period extolled the qualities of the model as "The Mathis Emysix, thanks to its excellent handling and light weight manages to move from zero to the speed of 100 kilometers per hour with great acceleration: in order to comfortably cruise at 80 km/h, you need a car that easily exceeds 100." A beautiful restoration will allow to check this statement!
