Maserati Quattroporte IV Verde Tundra

According to experts, the fourth generation Quattroporte is "the last real Maserati". When this unique copy was produced, Ferrari was about to take over the brand, with the Quattroporte Evoluzione as a result. In addition, the Quattroporte IV is the first with Biturbo technology. In this particular case, the turbo’s are linked to a 3.2-liter V8 engine: the absolute top version of the Quattroporte range during the late 90's. Together they produce an impressive 335 hp: "A power to be aware of!" Those are the words of Mr. Peels, former owner of this perfectly maintained Maserati.

History

We’ll be straight about it: Mr. Peels is a man we adore. An unadulterated car enthusiast, with an explicit preference for Italian beauties. And on top of that, a highly appreciated, loyal customer at Prins. We’ve known him now for over 15 years, and have shared lots of special moments ever since. For example, he drove an awesome Alfa Romeo 147 GTA for a long time. Recently, he bought himself a beautiful Brera 3.2 as well.
Mr. Peels is someone who takes care of his cars with all his heart. From lacquer to technology, sports pedals and even the door rubbers; there’s no part that doesn’t get any attention. Everything must be absolutely perfect. Just like this outstandingly gorgeous Maserati Quattroporte IV Otto Cilindri: his personal favorite.
Go and have a talk with Mr. Peels for half an hour and he convinces you that this Quattroporte is the best sports saloon ever made. He bought the car back in 2009 from a fellow club member of Maserati Club Holland. The car was already beautiful, but Mr. Peels, perfectionist as he is, still discovered enough room for improvement, thanks to his great knowledge of this particular model.

Condition

And so there was a lot of work to do: the hood is completely replaced for a new one. The catalyst converters were exchanged by original Ferrari parts, since they are flatter and therefore less susceptible to damage. In addition, the Maserati is equipped with a new stainless steel exhaust system, which fits to the Ferrari catalysts. Rubber shells raise the Quattroporte in a sophisticated way, in order to prevent the suspension from sagging over the years. The car now has the original height, which will also help entering and leaving the heated garage smoothly, as in the case of Mr. Peels. All four original adjustable shock absorbers have been revised by Koni. Therefore, the adjustable chassis simply works, which is quite unique.
Also worth mentioning is the fact that the engine has been replaced at a mileage of about 70,000 kilometers, due to an excessive oil consumption. At the request of the former owner, we’d like to remind you that the current engine also has a modest oil consumption. After all, Mr. Peels would be really hurt when he knew that ‘his’ Quattroporte would get too little lubricants. That’s why regular checks are recommended.

Interior & Exterior

This fabulous Maserati is as authentic as the person who owned it. The interior of the car is completely original and is in a stunningly beautiful shape. Only the nerves in the leather of the driver's seat have become a bit dark over the years, but Mr. Peels was very certain he never wanted to do something about that. According to him, things like that belong to a car of this age. Besides, there’s no excessive wear, just a healthy kind of patina. In addition, he never wanted to handle the leather upholstery too aggressively; after all, that’s is a form of cleaning, and spraying seemed inappropriate. Summarized: what you see is what you get. And we certainly like what we see.
That also goes for the outside. The timeless bodywork, designed by Marcello Gandini, has a splendid color called Verde Tundra. The dark green lacquer seems to have invented the words charisma and cachet. Bonus: all invoices and full documentation are included. Mr. Peels even owns the original brochure. A spotless one, of course. However, it will only be included if the next owner proves to be an unadulterated fan and worthy successor. "I have to make sure that the Quattroporte is in good hands!" Time to give Mr. Peels what he asks for. What he deserves.

Kind regards,
Prins Classics
