Beschreibung

"An elegant four-seater coupé that was first presented in concept form at the 1965 Turin Motor Show, the production-ready Mexico was released at the Paris Motor Show in 1966 thanks to strong interest in the initial concept. This is one of just 485 Mexico’s manufactured from 1966 to 1973, including only 175 equipped with Maserati’s 290bhp 4.7 litre double overhead camshaft V8 engine. In 1969, the car was made available with a smaller 4.2 litre V8 as used in the Quattroporte. The majority were delivered to France, Switzerland and Italy. The power from the V8 was fed through a five-speed ZF manual transmission with overdrive to a live rear axle and i9s brought to a halt by servo assisted ventilated disc brakes, a first for Maserati. With tastefully subtle bodywork and room for the driver plus three passengers and their luggage, this was a luxurious GT that could easily be used as a daily driver.
This delightfully handsome Maserati has been the subject to a major restoration including a full mechanical overhaul, a bare metal respray and an interior retrim to the highest standard. Finished in burgundy with a sumptuous full leather cream interior, this Mexico is equipped with air conditioning, power steering, electric windows and rare centre lock Borrani aluminium wire wheels. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a full years MoT test certificate, this Maserati Mexico offers an intriguing blend of race bred performance and innovation complemented by luxurious practicality."
