The Indy model was designed by Carrozzeria Vignale and named after the victories of Maserati at the famous Indianapolis track in 1939 and in 1940. At the time it was launched in 1969, the Indy was only available with a 4.2 litre V8 engine. As of 1970 the Indy could also be ordered with the famous 4.7 litre engine. This same year, some interior updates were introduced including seats with retractable headrests and a new dashboard.

This unit was manufactured in spring of 1972, on 17-04-1972 to be precise. A special detail is that this Indy was originally supplied in the Netherlands. What is even more special is that this Indy comes from its first owned who thus had the car for about 47 years. This Maserati’s original colour is Rosso Cordoba, however, as part of a total restoration in 1988, this car was sprayed in its current colour. Numerous pictures concerning this restoration are available. During all these years, the Indy has always been maintained by one and the same expert.
