1970 Maserati Ghibli - fully restored

Maserati first unveiled the Ghibli as a 2 seater prototype at the November 1966 Turin Motor Show. It’s stunning body with low, shark shaped nose, was designed by a young Giorgetto Giugiaro, then working at Ghia. Deliveries started in March 1967. The car was powered by a dry sumped 4.7 litre V8 engine with a five speed ZF gearbox. Performance matched the sensational design with 0-60mph in 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 155mph. With a total build of only 1170 coupes they are today a very rare car.

Although a Grand Tourer in every sense of the word with power steering and air conditioning as standard, the Ghibli is a true thoroughbred with a legendary sound track!

Our car remained in Italy until 1984 when it was exported to the US where it stayed with one owner for 28 years until imported into the UK in 2014. The car was then subject to a £150,000 restoration with invoices of £110, 000 from leading marque specialist McGrath Maserati. The restoration includes new leather interior, rebuilt engine and bare metal paint. The owner has barely driven 500 miles since this extensive restoration and has sorted all the inevitable gremlins from such a rebuild.

The car comes with factory heritage certificate, copy of build sheets and photographic record of restoration. We picked the car up from McGrath where it was being serviced so it is truly ready for a post lockdown road trip.
