Fahrzeughistorie:

Der Meister italienischen Designs Giorgetto Giugiaro selbst zeichnete für Maserati den ersten Mittelmotor Straßen Sportwagen, noch heute eine Skulptur, die in Klarheit und Ausgewogenheit in den Proportionen ihres Gleichen sucht. Als Antwort auf Fahrzeuge wie Ferrari 365 BB oder Lamborghini Miura geplant, rettete der Bora, wie auch sein kleinerer Bruder Merak zu Beginn der 70er Jahre dem Unternehmen Maserati das Überleben, wechselte die Firma doch mehrfach die Besitzer. Aus der Liaison mit Citroën zur Zeit der Entwicklung des Bora stammt u.a. die sehr feinfühlige Bremsanlage, eine Besonderheit, die Bora Fahrer nicht missen möchten.
Dieser Bora wurde, wie alle 4900er, in die USA ausgeliefert, genauer nach Texas an Herrn Robert Kleinberg. Schon 1990 kam das Auto zurück nach Europa. Ein Frankfurter Arzt ließ ihn wenig später auf sich zu. Dieser war es auch, der ihn 1996 bei Candini in Modena auf den europäischen, sehr viel attraktiveren, Look umbauen und im Jahr 2000 ebenfalls dort den Motor und die Technik revidieren ließ. Seit 2014 ist der sehr gut erhaltene Bora in letztem Besitz. Auch dieser Eigentümer wartete ihn sorgsam. Ein gut dokumentierter Bora in ausgezeichnetem Erhaltungszustand. Sicherlich eine gute Investition.

Vehicle history:

The master of Italian design Giorgetto Giugiaro himself drew the first mid-engine road sports car for Maserati, still today a sculpture unparalleled clarity and balance in proportions. Planned as an answer to cars like the Ferrari 365 BB or the Lamborghini Miura, the Bora, like its smaller brother Merak, saved the survival of the Maserati company at the beginning of the 1970s. From the liaison with Citroën at the time of the development of the Bora comes, among other things, the very sensitive brake system, a feature that Bora drivers would not want to miss.
This Bora, like all 4900s, was delivered to the USA, more precisely to Texas to Robert Kleinberg. Already in 1990, the car came back to Europe. A doctor from Frankfurt bought it. It was he who had it rebuilt in 1996 at Candini in Modena to the European, much more attractive, look and in 2000 also had the engine and the technology revised there. Since 2014, the very well-preserved Bora is in current ownership. This owner also maintained it carefully. A well-documented Bora in excellent condition.
