Beschreibung

Jim Clark was a legendary 2-time Formula 1 champion who raced for Lotus his entire F1 career. After his unfortunate passing in a Formula 2 accident at Hockenheim circuit in 1968, Lotus produced their cars with special Lotus black badges as an homage to him. This Elan S4 is a “Black Badge” example, Lotus used these badges for a limited period making examples like this very rare.
This car has been beautifully restored, it was carefully garaged for 35 years by one owner and later, under the ownership of the current owner, the body, undercarriage and interior went through a full restoration.
The engine bay is also in perfect condition and houses the famous Lotus Twin Cam engine. Due to stricter European emission regulations, some examples use Zenith Stromberg carburettors, however this Elan S4 uses the higher performance Weber 40DCOE carburettors.
This is a very collectible Lotus Elan that is in perfect condition and carries a touch of Jim Clark’s legacy. It’s a car that will continue to increase in value and represents the heyday of 60s motorsport.
