Beschreibung

"The Lincoln Motor Company had been founded in 1917 by the great engineer Henry M. Leland and his son Wilfred. After the Great War, Leland's first Lincoln was superbly engineered and built. For 1929 the Model L engine gained rubber engine mounts with increased engine oil pressure, while evolutionary changes were made to the exterior design with a new, higher, radiator and bonnet line. In addition to 24 catalogued custom bodies, Lincoln also offered twelve bodies of its own design, from closed saloons to the deluxe Sport Touring, the latter reputedly being the favoured design of Lincoln’s most prosperous clientele.
This supremely handsome seven seat tourer by Locke presents in very good order having been restored a number of years ago. Some user friendly upgrades were applied including the fitting of modern electric fuel pumps. A Holley carburettor and manifold has been fitted although the original parts are available should any new owner wish to reverse the modifications. Sitting proudly on wire wheels, this Lincoln is finished in two-tone paint with matching leather interior. The rear passenger compartment is an area of beauty with ample legroom or use of occasional rear seats. A removable glass protective screen is available to protect the passengers from the wind and a rear trunk is fitted to increase luggage space. This is American automobile engineering at its finest; superb design, a V8 engine and ride quality that defies its 93 years of age. Such an impressive car and a real head turner."
