Beschreibung
This classic car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button. .This car came out of the Rover plants in Birmingham on 3/7/1957 and is one of the 239 Series 1 107 RHD Station Wagons built for the English market. It was converted into a left-hand drive (LHD) during the restoration but all the parts are available to bring it back to its original driving position.
This Land Rover is nicknamed MECCANO because of its galvanised door profiles, reminiscent of the old game that allowed the construction of various items with different pieces of sheet iron.
It was completely restored in the Land Rover Team workshops in Giussano (north of Milan), it was exhibited at the most important historic car fairs and participated in some rallies of the Land Rover brand in Italy.
A peculiarity of this 107 SW: probably the first owner loved to spend the night on his beloved Land, since various clever devices allowed to create a large double bed using the front and rear benches. Given the work well done, we thought of one of the first transformations in “DORMOBILE”, whose writing on the rear door could be a proof.
A demanding restoration that lasted just under 1,200 hours, which was also rewarded by various reports in trade magazines. Among them, the Land Rover Owners, that defined it as one of the most beautiful (if not the most beautiful of all) 107 SWs.
Less than 200 of the 7,000 units built are known all over the world, so it is considered very rare.
This vehicle can be viewed in Giussano (MB), Italy, upon appointment with Catawiki.
