Beschreibung

  • A simply stunning, low-mileage, limited-edition Land Rover with just over 10,000 miles and in commensurate condition
  • Full servicing history (last at 10,613 miles) and complete book-pack
  • Supplied new via a Scottish dealership and taken by its owner to the Caribbean where it remained for many years; re-patronised to the UK and put into professional storage before being fully serviced
  • The SVX 60th Anniversary Edition, 1 of 300 examples built worldwide (only 70 of which were station wagons) and only 90 cars in total came to the UK
  • The SVX shares its mechanical layout with the standard Defender, including the same recently revised (as of 2008) 2.4-litre four-cylinder Ford turbo-diesel engine; it also gains Recaro seats, big wheels and distinctive brightwork, including a silver coloured grille and headlamp surround
  • Flatter-riding than any previous Defender courtesy of some subtle, SVX-only improvements to the damping, making it much more comfortable
  • Recaro seats support occupants far better and transform the quirky driving position from the regular Defender
  • The interior also gets well-considered trim changes, iPod connectivity, a Garmin satnav unit and a decent sound system

In November 2008, Land Rover first announced its limited-edition Defender SVX. Built to celebrate the British marque’s 60th anniversary, the Defender SVX was available in both 90 soft-top and 90 station wagon versions.

This is 1 of 300 examples built worldwide (only 70 of which were station wagons) and only 90 cars in total came to the UK.

The SVX shares its mechanical layout with the standard Defender, including the same recently revised (as of 2008) 2.4-litre four-cylinder Ford turbodiesel engine. Offered exclusively in metallic black paintwork, the SVX featured subtle satin-black graphics, special badging, silver finish for the tubular side-steps, the front grille and new clear-lens headlamps. Additionally, all SVX models were equipped with new five-spoke alloy wheels, a reinforced aluminium front under-shield and clear LED rear lights. On the inside, the SVX boasted custom-designed Recaro front seats, an iPod cradle and Garmin satellite navigation, alloy gear knobs, a new audio system, and an individually numbered plaque. It was flatter-riding than any previous Defender courtesy of some subtle, SVX-only improvements to the damping, making it much more comfortable.

The 90-Station Wagon offered here was supplied new via a Scottish dealership and was subsequently taken by its Land Rover-enthusiast owner to the Caribbean where it remained for many years and used only sparingly in dry weather. It returned to the UK in 2012 and put into professional storage, before being fully recommissioned. Our vendor, who is a collector a low-mileage original cars, could not resist acquiring what must be one of the best examples of a SVX available anywhere to buy. With limited-edition ‘original model’ Defenders seemingly being more desirable than ever, this low-mileage, low-owner, and wholly original example, would make both a fun and shrewd purchase.
