The History

Cesare Fiorio and Claudio Maglioli decided in 1969 to customize a Fulvia Coupé to race in the Sport category, instead of using the Fulvia Sport which had proved too fragile and poorly ventilated.
The frame was therefore shortened and the roof removed, leaving only a small windshield.
The first bodywork was derived from a Rally HF prototype with a special engine (1,401 liters of displacement and 145 HP) used in the 1967 Tour de Corse and the 1968 Targa Florio.
The engine adopted was initially a 1.6 HF with 145 HP at 7,000 rpm which subsequently reached 162 HP in the latest evolution; all engines used a special intake manifold to decrease the height of the engine hood.
The car was known as the F&M Special and was made in only three units, the last of which had a very basic peralluman bodywork and took part in many track sports competitions and many uphill races with appreciable results.
The notable creation of the Sicilian tuner Tarantino for the driver “Sgarlata” should not be forgotten.
It is a Fulvia 1.3 HF without the roof, which had also been shortened the wheelbase by as much as 150 mm that ran at the 1972 Targa Florio. Over the years, several fans have tried their hand at replicas, many of which are particularly imaginative and far from reality.
