Presented at the Turin Motor Show in 1960, the Lancia Flavia 2000 Coupè was born from the request of Lancia for a new medium-sized car, a cross between the Appia and the Flaminia.
The adoption of ancient Rome streets names is a tradition from Lancia.
The Flavia has a 1.5-liter aluminum four-cylinder, the absolute star of this sedan.
The characteristics, unusual for the time, are different: the load-bearing body frame, the dual hydraulic circuit braking system, the discs on all four wheels and the independent suspension.
The 78 horsepower delivered by this first boxer are no so exciting, but justified by the fact that the Lancia Flavia was a car for the family.
Sober outside and comfortable inside, with ample space capable of holding up to four passengers and built with quality and high level finishes, it is also very reliable and practical to drive.
Despite the slightly higher price than competitors on the market, commercial success was excellent.
The Lancia Flavia covers all the sixties with various engines, officially ending production in 1971.
