Beschreibung

Introduced to the world at the Torino Motor Show in 1960, the Flavia was the first new Lancia developed under technical director Ing. Prof. Antonio Fessia. Representing a bold new direction in engineering philosophy, the Flavia utilized a flat four-cylinder engine, front-wheel drive, and four-wheel disc brakes – all technically advanced features for the era. The Flavia was the first executive-class Lancia in a generation, and it was offered in four distinct body styles: Berlina, Pininfarina Coupe, Vignale Convertible, and Zagato Sport.

Presented here is a charming example of the Flavia Coupe, an elegant 2+2 fastback that echoes the lines of another contemporary Pininfarina design – the Ferrari 250 GTE. In total, just 15,569 first-generation Coupes were built between 1961 and 1969.

This 1964 Flavia Coupe is equipped with the 1,800 cc engine that debuted in 1963 and offered 15% more power than the original 1.5 liter. Finished in white over tobacco leather, it was delivered new in Bergamo, Italy, and remained in the care of two private owners until 2016, when it was sold to an American collector. When catalogued, this wonderfully original and gently patinated Lancia showed less than 52,000 km (approximately 32,300 miles) on its odometer. Rarely seen in the US, this stylish and sophisticated small-displacement Italian GT is sure to reward its new owner with its good looks, innovative features, and traditional Lancia quality.
