History:
At the time of its launch in 1987, the Lancia Delta HF 4WD was initially equipped with a Volumex supercharger. It later adopted a turbocharger with its evolution into the Lancia Delta Integrale in October of the same year. These early Delta versions immediately proved formidable in competition, winning the World Rally Championship in 1987 and 1988. From its international debut, the 8-valve Integrale won the Rally of Portugal in 1988. By the end of the 1989 season, it had already accumulated 13 additional victories in the World Championship.
This 8-valve Lancia Delta Integrale Group A is an extremely rare example, part of the very first chassis built by Abarth as part of the official competition program. A factory car, it was originally registered in Turin by Abarth (TO-42242H), then in charge of FIAT’s competition department, in direct connection with the Squadra Corse Lancia.
Entered in the Turkish championship at the time, it has a history of participation in several World Rally Championship events as well as national championship races.
The Milano Racing team acquired it around ten years ago, campaigned it in competition, and fully restored it before selling it to our client.
The car was restored to the highest standards by Milano Racing prior to its acquisition. The Abarth body shell was stripped, sandblasted, treated, and repainted. It retains all of its original Abarth competition mechanical components:
8-valve Group A Abarth engine producing 300 hp,
Abarth R70 Group A dog gearbox (6-speed),
Abarth competition running gear,
Abarth suspension with modern 3-way adjustable cartridges.
The car wears its period livery from when it competed in Turkey in Castrol colors.
Fully compliant with Abarth specifications and maintained by a specialist preparer, this Delta has been serviced and is ready to race, with its FIA HTP and all safety items up to date (seats, harnesses, etc.).
It is currently set up for gravel, as it was during the Turkish championship at the time, but can easily be converted to tarmac by changing the suspension and wheels.
This car took part in the 2017 French Gravel Championship and won the Rallye Terre du Diois. The car is ready to be used in competition and is offered with its original ACI document, its Technical Passport, and its valid FIA HTP.
