Beschreibung

In the 1950s, the combination of elegance and sportiness that made the Turin company famous throughout the world was strengthened. Lancia style is expressed in a memorable car such as the Aurelia B20 GT, a berlinetta with refined and powerful mechanics, from which the splendid Aurelia B24 Spider derives.
In 1954 Pinin Farina – which had already contributed to defining the lines of the Aurelia Granturismo – “dresses” the mechanics of the B20 and creates an equally elegant spider which, thanks to its lines, immediately enjoyed great success in the American market. By shortening the chassis of the B20 4th series and with a few modifications to its 6-cylinder 2.451cm3, only necessary to adapt it to a lower engine compartment, one of the most beautiful spiders ever is born.
The Aurelia B24 Spider was produced in 1955 alone in a total of 240 cars: 59 right-hand drive and 181 left-hand drive (initialed B24S, where the S indicates left-hand drive).
The Spider is characterized by a long air intake on the bonnet and two-part “wing” bumpers, which at the front show off the classic shield grille, the Lancia emblem par excellence. The car’s setting is very original: the passenger compartment is practically in the center between the long trunk and the engine hood. The elegant B24 Spider is also distinguished by low doors, which leave room for a high sill embellished with a chrome line. The purity of the design is further accentuated by the absence of handles on the outside of the doors. In the interior, the dashboard has three circular instruments with the large speedometer in the center above the steering column. Another precious detail, the beautiful three-spoke aluminum steering wheel with wooden crown.

Many enthusiasts consider it the most beautiful car ever built, for sure it is an icon of the Dolce Vita and of Italian design.
