- Rare model
- Nicely preserved vehicle
- Well-appointed for a van
Sold new in Italy and first registered on 6 April 1957, this Lancia Appia van has had just five owners from new. It is an example of the first series of the model, equipped with a rare five-speed gearbox. The 33 bhp V4 1100cc engine is identical to the one used on the Appia, and the van sports the same shield-shaped grille as the touring version.
Well preserved and in good mechanical condition, this car has been painted in two-tone champagne and brown, and the interior has been renovated. The rear loading area has a wooden floor fitted over the spare wheel compartment. Notably, the previous owner used this vehicle to promote his wine bar in the north of Italy.
This is a rare model as there were less than 2,000 examples of the first series built on this mechanical base, most of which won't have been treated as carefully as this one. There was also a flatbed version and a van with windows. For enthusiasts of utility vehicles, this Furgoncino is an opportunity that rarely presents itself.
