Beschreibung
The Lamborghini Diablo SV is widely regarded as one of the purest iterations of the Diablo lineage – and the last of its kind to feature the iconic pop-up headlights. Especially the early SV models, introduced in 1996, continue to captivate enthusiasts with their reduced weight, rear-wheel-drive layout, and raw, unfiltered driving dynamics. No all-wheel drive, no electronic aids – just 510 horsepower from a naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V12, paired with a manual gearbox that forges an unmistakable connection between driver and machine. The SV is more than just a Diablo – it is a bold and uncompromising statement of its era.
This particular example was delivered in March 1997 as a left-hand-drive car to Comfex in Hong Kong – finished in the striking and futuristic color combination of Bianco over black Alcantara. The specification exactly matches the car Lamborghini featured on its official Diablo SV sales poster – an image etched into the memories of countless fans of the brand. That very same poster image is included among the photos of this vehicle.
In 2025, the car was imported to Germany and is currently undergoing a comprehensive restoration by Auto Sportiva, carried out with the utmost respect for originality and factory standards. The restoration is being executed to the highest level of quality and craftsmanship. Among the major works is a full engine-out service, during which the V12 engine is removed, meticulously inspected, and – where necessary – overhauled, including a detailed internal examination. Simultaneously, the entire chassis and suspension system is being restored, including all axles, dampers, and related components.
The bodywork is undergoing precise refinishing to bring the original Bianco paint back to a flawless, factory-correct shine. The interior is being sympathetically restored as well, with the black Alcantara surfaces and other materials refurbished to match the car’s original 1997 delivery condition. Brand-new tires to factory specification are being fitted, and the braking system is also being fully rebuilt as part of the restoration program.
Upon completion, the car will be delivered with official Lamborghini Polo Storico Certification, confirming its authenticity, provenance, and adherence to original specification – a highly coveted seal of approval for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
A Diablo SV in this specification, with this provenance and restoration pedigree, is a true rarity. Whether as an investment-grade collectible or for spirited use on alpine roads, this Lamborghini represents a piece of design and performance history – a rolling sculpture with the soul of a raging bull.
