"Constructed in 1992, this Mirage Mk. Iwas built by David Harrison of DC Supercars, as a private venture for the then owner, Paul Rose.The Countach is well known throughout the Lamborghinicommunity and became well known when it was featured in ‘Which Kit Magazine’ in May 1993.
The bodyshell, said to have the exact dimensions of the real car, is fibreglass and is fitted over a space frame chassis; reportedly with a ‘Lee Noble’ influence. As a consequence, the car drives and handles superbly. Powered by a very reliable, naturally aspirated Rover 3.5 litre V8 engine and coupled to a Renault 30 five-speed gearbox.
The current vendor purchased the Countach over a decade ago and has completed various restoration work during his tenure. The bodywork was restored in 2014 by renowned Ferrari restorers, DC Coachwork in East Sussexwhich included a comprehensive respray in the correct Lamborghini colour of Blanco Polo Park White. Further work was carried out in 2016 including an uprated cooling system and refurbishment to the engine. The suspension was also treated to performance upgrades in 2016.
The interior was extensively refurbished by the original builder, David Harrison, to a very high standard. All parts were fabricated and fitted to replicate the original Countach cockpit, period dials and replica switches were fitted as well as an original Alpine stereo radio reminiscent of original examples.Other features that make this car so desirable include the central locking and immobiliser, electric door mirrors and operation side windows. Sitting proudly onperiod correct Roin alloy wheels,this Countach is one of the most detailed and correct examples we have seen.
