Beschreibung

The Lamborghini Countach is one of the most distinctive super-cars ever built. Designed and conceptualized by Bertone, adopting a sharply angled ‘’wedge’’ styling, this became increasingly popular as more versions were built between 1974 and 1990. Built to celebrate the company’s twenty-fifth anniversary in 1988, the car had a very similar mechanical setup to that of the 5000QV but featured some considerable changes to its body, carried out by Horacio Pagani. As the last Countach ever built, many would agree that this was the most refined and arguably the most outrageous.

This remarkable example has a wonderful story behind its existence, which started in the Italian alps where a gentleman met the head of sales from Lamborghini SPA while skiing. After expressing his interest and exuberance surrounding the Countach 25th Anniversary to the gentleman, he began eagerly writing letters and doing all he could to try and secure an allocation, despite there being none available. After some consideration and having discussions with Portman Lamborghini, they gave into his enthusiasm and delivered the car in 1989. The car wore Rosso Siviglia over Magnolia interior with red piping, the same untouched original specification it wears today. Just a few years after its initial delivery and a dramatic rise in value, the car was sold to its second keeper, where it remained in his cherished possession until March of 2019. Furlonger were approached to help find a new home for #112 and the car was purchased by an avid collector as on off market sale.

The Countach has since been delicately used by its current custodian in order to preserve its exceptional originality, albeit has taken part in a handful of prominent historic car events during 2019. These included the official Lamborghini Polo Storico tour in Italy where it won first in its class and Salon Prive where it also won first in its class while represented by Furlonger.

The car has covered a mere 7,860 kilometres from new and is likely one of, if not the most superb, original and low mileage examples in the world available today. Accompanying the car is its original leather document wallet, service handbook, service directory, users manual, emergency cover leaflet, unopened Alpine stereo booklet, original car cover assorted history file with invoices, letters of correspondence from Portman Lamborghini and 3 Concours trophies.

Presented in what can only be described as the condition of a car with delivery miles, though regularly exercised throughout its life, this Countach is the perfect balance of condition and originality. This is the first time in nearly 31 years that this exceptionally special example has been publicly offered for sale and presents a timely opportunity to add a prominent, rare and highly collectable Countach suitable for the finest of collections.
