Beschreibung

The Aventador, named for a particularly courageous fighting bull in Spain, was launched in 2011 at the Geneva Auto Show to succeed the Lamborghini icon – the Murciélago. Reinvented in 2015 as the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce, this raw supercar was engineered specifically to maximize performance and is described as “aggressive” more than 20 times in Lamborghini’s marketing material.

The Superveloce comes without any of the creature comforts lavished on other contemporary supercars. It is minimalistic because that is the point – this is a machine built for the automotive purist who craves speed, as its name (superfast) suggests.

To achieve this goal, the team at Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, pared 110 pounds from the standard Aventador, largely by crafting nearly every possible component in carbon fiber, including the monocoque, seat frames, doors, spoilers, and engine cover, while the subframes are super-light aluminum. Meanwhile, the naturally aspirated V-12 engine has an output of 750 bhp, creating a power-to-weight ratio of 2.03 kg/hp – increasing the muscle to move the diminished mass. The Superveloce clocks 0–62 mph in 2.8 seconds and tops out at over 217 mph – aggressive by any measure. The chosen conduit to deliver the power to the permanent all-wheel drive (hence the “4” in the designation) is the Lamborghini ISR gearbox, with independent shift rods, capable of shifting up to 50% faster than a comparable unit but weighing considerably less.

To ensure the Superveloce stays earthbound, the aerodynamics were substantially reworked to flatten and stretch out the silhouette and significantly increase the downforce by 170% over the standard Aventador. The racing-style rear wing can be adjusted, along with other characteristics such as the engine, transmission, differential, and steering settings to three driving modes, (road), Sport, or (track). Other notable innovations include a new electromechanical Lamborghini Dynamic Steering system that adapts the steering ratio to road speed and driving mode, plus the MRS push-rod suspension that adjusts according to road conditions. Add some super-sticky Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires and carbon ceramic brakes, and the Superveloce has all the power and discipline required for to describe it thusly: “Overkill has never been more fascinating, four-wheel drive burnouts, unflappably stable.”

This Superveloce is one of just 600 built and is superbly bellicose in its black paint with silver accents and orange interior highlights. It was delivered new to its current owner – a private collector who has driven it less than 200 miles and maintains it in his exotic collection in a climate-controlled garage. The car comes with many factory accessories, including manuals and tool kit.

The Aventador Superveloce is not for the reticent or discreet. It is uncompromisingly aggressive and unmistakably Lamborghini, built for the purist with a thirst for extreme speed and power – without distractions.
