Few automobiles may genuinely be described as transformational. Fewer still may be credited with redefining what was thought possible from a road-legal performance car. The Koenigsegg One:1 firmly satisfies both claims. Unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the model represented a watershed moment not only for Koenigsegg, but for the wider hypercar genre. When manufacturers were engaged in an increasingly competitive pursuit of speed, eponymous company founder Christian von Koenigsegg elected to pursue something far more ambitious: engineering purity. The result was extraordinary.

Named after its unprecedented 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, the One:1 combined a dry weight of approximately 1,360 kilograms with an output of 1,360 horsepower (1,379 PS) from its twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V-8. Equally significant was the fact that the engine produced one megawatt of power—prompting Koenigsegg to label it the world’s first “megacar”.

More than a decade later, the achievement remains remarkable. The One:1 was among the fastest and most advanced road cars of its era. Featuring active aerodynamics, triplex damper technology, carbon fibre Aircore wheels, variable-geometry turbochargers, and an advanced seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the One:1 demonstrated a level of engineering sophistication that few manufacturers could approach. Its performance figures remain extraordinary by any modern standard. Koenigsegg states a staggering 20-second sprint from 0 to 400 km/h, while the tyres were rated for a top speed of 440 km/h.

Of the six customer examples produced, chassis number 7108 offered here occupies a particularly significant position. Believed to be the third customer vehicle completed, it is known affectionately within the Koenigsegg community as “JC”—its initials proudly displayed on the engine cover—and is arguably the most widely photographed and publicly recognised of all One:1s.

That’s partly courtesy of the clear-coated carbon fibre and Kevlar being contrasted by bespoke China Pink accents. The colourful flashes trace the contours of the bonnet, roof panel, splitter elements, side skirts, side intakes, roof scoop, rear diffuser, and the towering active rear wing. Further enhancing the presentation are the revolutionary carbon fibre Aircore wheels—among the most technically ambitious wheel designs ever fitted to a production car—finished with matching China Pink detailing and complemented by coordinated brake callipers.

Inside, the cabin reflects the same attention to detail. Black leather and Alcantara are combined with bespoke China Pink accents throughout, including the seat piping, stitching, door panels, rear bulkhead, and interior trim. Lightweight carbon fibre bucket seats reinforce the car’s ultra-focused character, while maintaining the refinement expected of Koenigsegg’s flagship models.

Chassis 7108 was delivered new on 4 April 2015 via Esser Automotive, Koenigsegg’s long-standing German representative. Initially registered to a German company based in Hilden before later passing to Pace Cars International GmbH of Düsseldorf, a subsidiary of Esser Automotive, it has benefited from attentive ownership and specialist maintenance from new.

The One:1 returned to Esser Automotive for routine servicing in March 2017, January 2019, and February 2021. The car was then serviced by SIC Garage in July 2022 before returning to Esser Automotive again for a fresh service and factory updates prior to the Tegernsee Auction. At the time of cataloguing, the odometer displayed 4,233 kilometres from new.

Significantly, ownership of chassis 7108 grants access to Koenigsegg’s Ghost Squadron community—a private network of owners, whose activities include factory events, international driving tours, and some of the most exclusive automotive gatherings in the world.

For the collector seeking not just sheer rarity, but significance, chassis 7108 presents an exceptional opportunity. One of only six examples produced, and quite possibly the most recognisable of all One:1s, it is a defining chapter in the history of Koenigsegg.
