Beschreibung
"Alan and his brother Richard Jensen first became involved with car design and construction in 1925. After World War II, Jensen kept itself afloat by producing bodies for other manufacturers, most notably Austin Healey, while producing its own stylish GTs in limited numbers. It was not until the Interceptor's arrival in 1967 that cars began to leave the West Bromwich factory in more substantial numbers. With the Interceptor's introduction, Jensen switched from glass fibre to steel for its car bodies.
This 1973 Interceptor was discovered in a barn in Guernsey and although its condition was acceptable a ground-up renovation and modification was undertaken. The engine was rebuilt and the body stripped to bare metal. Various metal panels were replaced as were the inner and outer sills. The front and rear steel wings were subtly widened including the inner arches. The rear valance was given a cleaner look by removing all existing plastic trim and the front valance was lowered. The outer door handles were removed to allow for remote opening and a newly fabricated bonnet was fitted. The suspension and brakes have been replaced. The exhaust system can be described as a work of art. It was handmade in stainless steel and includes ceramic coated manifolds. The engine has uprated timing gear and an Edelbrock Performer package including camshaft and lifters, roller rockers and a performance inlet manifold and an all-new electronic ignition system was fitted. The car presents well in Aston Martin Mercury Silver which is complemented by modified front seats trimmed in soft black diamond stitched leather and an Alcantara headlining. LHT 7L is a perfect opportunity to buy a classic looking Jensen with the desirable elements of a modern car. Consignor Dominic Lake.
