1958 Jaguar XK150 DHC UK RHD matching numbers

Jaguar introduced the XK150 in 1957 as the logical progression from the then dated styling of the XK140. With a curved one piece windscreen, more spacious internally and importantly disc brakes all round. Comfort was not created at the expense of performance as the new cylinder head produced 210 BHP in standard form giving an impressive top speed of 125MPH. Most cars were fitted with overdrive so this was the ideal car to run down to Cote d’Azur!

Most cars were exported in LHD so to find a full matching numbers UK RHD Drophead Coupe is a rare opportunity. One of only 619 built and of 257 built in 1958 our car was first sold through Henlys of London to an enthusuatic lady driver in Ealing. She ordered a special shade of red which the car wears to this day. She kept the car for two years before selling to Jean Mortimer in Weybridge. Subsequent owners are listed on both the Buff Book as well as the first V5 dated in 1991. The owner listed there kept the car until our client bought it in 2016. We are led to believe the car was stored in the previous owners garage for 20 years and the current condition would bear this out. The car is in fantastic condition and due to the regular servicing by the current owner the car drives as well as it looks.

As well as being matching numbers the car also has carried the same registration plate throughout its life, 1 BKX.

The current owner drove the car to us and having driven the car myself can confirm that it drives beautifully, pressures are correct and the gearbox a delight. When XK’s are sorted they are brilliant fun to drive and I am happy to say this is such a car.

I have priced it competitively at £99,950 and with summer approaching do not expect to see this take long to sell. Viewing is with me in Hampshire.
