We have a gorgeous 1957 Jaguar XK150 Fixed Head Coupé (FHC), complete with a canvas sliding roof, in great condition on offer. The Jaguar XK150 was so much more than just a face-lifted version of the XK140. The XK150 was very much more advanced with an accompanying improved modern drive. These kind of cars come out of an era that a few years could make an enormous difference in technical development. It was also a time that Jaguar was absolutely a world automotive power, delivering a level of quality they have been hard-put equal since.

In 1957 this car was supplied in Belgium and has already been meticulously restored. As the restoration was carried out a little while ago it still radiates a lot of charm a modern can never offer whilst being in good shape.

The reason the car is still present so well is the thorough nut & bolt approach employed during the restoration. The bodywork is as straight as an arrow. The panelwork is nice and thin and there is good quality paintwork with only few signs of normal wear. The canvas sliding roof closes tightly and the chrome wire wheels and bumpers look splendid. This Jaguar is a joy to behold, just walking towards it fills one with an enormous feeling of glee.

That feeling continues unabated when opening the door. The original leather was reused during the restoration. The lovely supple leather has developed a fine patina. The carpets, dashboard, instrument and controls are all in very fine shape. Naturally the Smiths gauges provide a suitable background to this British sports car.

The XK150 is quite rightly seen as a sports car. The 3.4 litre straight-six develops 180 Ps and still manages to impress. The car also benefits from disc brakes and a good suspension. Overall this combination provides delightful driving characteristics and actually allows use all of the available power. The photos show this is not the car for someone looking for a freshly restored example. This is a car for those who see a vehicle as a platform to achieve their goals with no as a goal in itself. Should you be planning a trip to your favourite capital city or indeed a visit to Goodwood, then this is the XK150 for you. If on the other hand you are on the lookout for a XK150 to keep in a gilded cage, then this is most definitely not the prefect XK150 for you.

In short this Jaguar is ready to start many adventures with as well as not having had all its patina polished away during restoration. Please feel free to step in, put your foot down and enjoy!
