No. - G9536-8Exterior Color – RedInterior Color – Red and Tan leather Engine – 3.4L six-cylinder dual overhead cam in-line sixTransmission – 4-speed manual Current Miles – 9,323 TMUGeneral OverviewJaguar XK series cars are regarded as among the most drivable and enjoyable classic sports cars of the 1950’s. The first of the series, the XK120 offered an all-new twin-cam inline six-cylinder engine, delivering 120 mph performance at a surprisingly affordable price. By 1955, the XK140 arrived, this time with notable improvements including more legroom, increased horsepower, rack and pinion steering, telescoping shock absorbers, and improved brakes. Coupe, drophead coupe, and roadster versions were available with a range of performance options. Today, the roadster is the most sought after, in part for their beautiful body design featuring an uncluttered, race-inspired appearance, open air touring, and performance to match. History of this JaguarThis handsome left-hand-drive example was treated to a high-quality driver restoration when completed in the 1990s by a dedicated older enthusiast. Although early history of this example remains unknown at this time, the engine block and head match the chassis plate, and a prior owner is known to have been a long-term custodian for the car. The former owner purchased the car eight years ago from the long-term owner some years after it had been placed in storage. Under former ownership, notable services included a complete brake job, replacement of the fuel tank with a new aluminum unit and rebuilding the carburetors.
The current owner purchased this car in 2022 with 2,300 miles indicated on the odometer. Preparing the car for vintage road events, the current owner invested an additional $20k to bring it to a level of mechanical confidence to complete the Seattle to Monterey “Pebble Beach Classic” a 9 day 1,500 mile event that concludes at Pebble Beach in August for the annual Concours d’Elegance. Having successfully completed this event in August 2026, the car is ready for the next fortunate owner to enjoy future road tours or vintage Jaguar club events. In addition to the preparation for the Pebble Beach Classic, under current ownership, numerous mechanical improvements have been made including…TBD when we get receipts…Formerly shod with solid wheels and rear spats, this Jaguar now wears a set of chrome plated wire wheels with Michelin black wall tires though the rear fender spats and disc wheels can be delivered to the next owner (at their cost) should they desire to have them with this car. Condition OverviewToday, this Jaguar XK140 makes a strong visual impression with handsome cosmetics suitable for local shows and Jaguar club shows. The paintwork is glossy but there are areas of age evident including the top of the rear passenger side fender showing several pinhole spots which are evident under close examination. The red finish is complimented by a beautiful set of chrome plated wire wheels wearing a set of Michelin X 185 R16 black wall tires. The body is straight with very good gaps and smooth panel operation. The exterior chrome is in very nice condition offering very good luster, reflective of quality work performed when the restoration was completed in the 1990s. The headlights and fog lamps nicely accent the beautiful front end, with all emblems, lettering, and trim in very good condition. The windshield is very nice with no notable scratches or chips and the various chrome trim and rubber are consistently good. The interior offers a satisfying and authentic finish to the red and tan leather surfaces delivering an inviting and comfortable impression in the gently relaxed seats and warmly settled materials. The carpet is in good condition, while the door trim and perimeter materials remain in very good condition. The dashboard is very nicely finished, featuring correctly restored original instruments and accessories. The canvas top is in excellent condition and fits properly to the chrome trimmed windscreen, featuring a clear plastic rear window and proper headliner. The engine compartment is attractive, using generally correct fasteners, correct hoses, and fittings per factory specifications. The matching numbers engine block and head are properly finished though not overly polished or fussy to deter owners from enjoyable driving. The trunk is trimmed with correct trunk liner and lug wrench stowed in the correct metal retainer clips. The undercarriage appears sound with no visual evidence of structural compromise though not detailed for show. This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a handsome, genuine, matching numbers XK140 roadster with capable driving manners and attractive cosmetics. Lovingly enjoyed with recent mechanical freshening, and handsome cosmetics, this Jaguar XK140 roadster awaits a new owner, ready to drive and enjoy. Included with this JaguarA reprinted owner’s manual and wiring diagram, a pair of matching Jaguar branded SENA helmets and storage bags with built in audio connectivity, side curtains and case, a tan tonneau cover, tire changing tools and scissor jack, an indoor car cover, and two battery tenders are included with the car. Should the next owner wish to have the rear wheel spats and disc wheels, these are available and can be transported or shipped (at additional cost) to the new owner from Denver, Colorado.
