In 1948, during its unveiling, the Jaguar XK 120 was a huge hit! With its superb design, a powerful double overhead camshaft engine that gave the car a 192 km/h top-speed and an incomparably low price compared to the competition. The orders for the car flooded exceeding the manufacturer's sales forecasts.
The car on offer is the second one purchased by our collector who was particularly attracted by its hard-top, believing that it would be more suitable for winter use. Like its sister car, the restoration was really conducted in-depth. From the chassis upwards, everything has been either repaired or replaced, whether the body, the running gear, the wiring harness even the upholstery and the hood. The engine and the brakes were also the subject of extensive restoration. We can only trust the kind of care given to the work as it was supervised by the owner of the car, a former director of a factory which activity was related to the automotive field. Potential buyers can see the extent of the work in the book on the restoration, containing the all the pictures and all the invoices of the parts supplied by the Garage Felice Service, specialist in English cars. On the Jaguar Heritage records, the engine number doesn't appear, but the number found on the cylinder head is the one on the manufacturer's plate. Following this incredible restoration, the car has covered less than 100 kilometers. With or without its hard top, the elegance of the car is magnified by its beautiful color and its careful restoration.
