The car is air conditioned which was very special at the time. It still has the original radio.

Unfortunately, the original handwritten papers had to be handed in for me to obtain an export registration. But pictures of these are available. The car starts and runs well. The automatic gearbox shifts well and the car drives and brakes fine.

You can see the car has always been cherished. The interior looks original and the red leather upholstery has a beautiful patina. This car can be driven immediately. As you can see in the pictures, the engine has good oil pressure. Even the clock works. The car has electrically operated windows.

The series 1 Jaguar was the successor to the Jaguar S-type. The first XJ 6s were equipped with a 2.8L engine. The later types had a 4.2L engine. Only 6,125 left-hand drive series 1 with a 2.8L engine were built.

A total of 79,000 series 1 Jaguars were built.

When the car was introduced in 1968, it was touted by William Lyons as "The best Jaguar ever".
