- Low mileage, almost new condition
- Emblematic of the supercars of the 1990s
A special feature of this Jaguar XJ 220 is its low mileage: the counter displays only 11,100km. Delivered new in France, this Jaguar has had only three owners. Number 26 of the series, the car's condition is almost new and comes with its invoices, reflecting the quality of maintenance the car has received, which has been done by the excellent workshop Automobiles TS, next to Paris based Lamborghini and supercars specialist. The engine was fully overhauled in September 2011 (invoice of46 000), including accessories like the turbos and the fuel tanks. In July 2013 a full service was done for4 500. This exceptional model was born at a time when supercars such as Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959 were thriving. However, since the aborted XJ13, Jaguar had never produced a top level sports car, except for the XJR8 and 9 for Le Mans, pure competition prototypes. With the XJ220, the British brand aimed big. Initially powered by a 6.2-liter V12, the XJ220's highly sculpted body finally received a V6 twin-turbo 3.5-liter, which was less bulky and lighter, and which allowed the 550bhp of the powerpack to propel the car to a top speed of 340 km/h. Production remained rather limited, with just 281 examples made. With its low mileage, this particular example is a great opportunity to acquire one of the most iconic supercars of the 1980s/90s.
