Beschreibung
"The Jaguar S-Type is a quick car with delightful refinement. One of the most important changes to the S-Type from the Mk. II is the adoption of independent rear suspension, similar to that of the E-Type and Mk. X. As well as the improvements to road-holding and ride quality associated with IRS, the new rear suspension set-up enabled Jaguar’s designers to move the rear seat back three inches creating more legroom. Other changes included a Mk. X type heating and ventilation system and all new seats that both reclined and were adjustable for height and reach. The S-Type also had a much larger boot than the Mk. II with a similar shape to the Mk. X. Despite possessing superior handling and greater comfort than the Mk. II, the S-Type has lived in the shadows of its illustrious predecessor and tends to be significantly undervalued, this should be no reflection on what is clearly a fine motor car and in many ways superior to its more famous sibling.
Originally registered on 15th December 1967, this Jaguar was subject to a restoration in 2002 and has covered only 6,000 miles since. The engine was professionally overhauled with invoices to confirm, the gearbox, rear axle and suspension have also been overhauled. A stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted and we are advised the manual gearbox is fitted with overdrive, this Jaguar also benefits from power steering. Finished in British Racing Green with contrasting red interior, PKE 276F is supplied with a V5C registration document together with a history folder and the original factory handbook. Forming part of a private collection for a number of years, this car may require a little recommissioning. Police forces throughout the country also used Jaguar S-Types due to the swift performance, good road-holding and reliability."
