Beschreibung
Fabulous Australian delivered RHD Series 3 E-type.
Supplied with original books and a Heritage Certificate.
Original colour scheme and supplied with a hardtop.
According to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate supplied with the car, this well documented E-type was completed on March 7, 1974 and delivered through the local British Leyland agents Bryson Industries to the first owner who, rather surprisingly, lived in Darwin. Finished in the same Signal Red over black colour combination it wears today, the E-type was equipped with Borg-Warner automatic transmission and retains with both the original British Leyland Service Passport and Buyer Protection Service Plan. There is a note in the Passport showing the car Jaguar was actually first registered in NSW in September 1974 and the early servicing all took place in either NSW or the ACT, where it was also registered. The second and third owners were also based in NSW, the latter using specialists Paradise Garage in the 1990s, with the speedo reading creeping up to 33,678 kilometres by 1997 making it entirely plausible the current reading of 45,248 kms is correct.
Photos on file show the E-type was professionally repainted in the original colours, including stripping the body back to bare metal with any rust repairs carried out and replaced with zinc plate, the body primed then painted in 2-pack. Although the photos aren’t dated the duco remains in good condition today, with only a few minor blemishes. The carpets have also been replaced and a later stereo installed but otherwise the interior remains pleasingly original.
Offered for sale after several years in professional storage, the Jaguar has been regularly started and driven to ensure it works well but would still benefit from a tune, particularly the carburettors. Although not in concours condition, the E-type is a great driver-level car and estimated accordingly. Supplied with a rare and desirable factory hardtop, a custom car cover and two tonneau covers, this classic E-type V12 roadster ticks plenty of boxes for the serious collector and is definitely worthy of consideration. Currently registered in NSW until February 2023, the car comes with the original books and a good history file supplied.
