Beschreibung

The E-Type Series III was introduced in 1971, with a new 5.3 litre, V12 engine, uprated brakes and standard power steering. Optionally, an automatic transmission, wire wheels and air conditioning were available. The brand new V12 engine came with four  carburettors and was claimed to produce 272bhp, more torque, and a 0-60mph acceleration of less than seven seconds, which was phenomenal for the price of the car at that time, considering its competition in the market place. The short wheelbase fixedhead coupé body style was discontinued, with the Series III available only as a convertible and 2+2 coupé. The newly used longer wheelbase now offered significantly more room in all directions. These models were easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres, four exhaust tips and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12. It is thought that only 7,990 convertibles and 7,297 fixedhead cars were produced.

The Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 Roadster (chassis number 1S 2069) offered here at Autostorico is finished in Gloss Black with Black leather piped Red and Black carpets with matching Red piping.  This original RHD example was purchased by its current enthusiastic owner in May 1976 and has covered a mere 26,884 miles. Fast forward to1990, the owner undertook a no expense spared nut and bolt restoration which was carried out by Marque specialist XK Engineering with invoices totalling £46,477.00. Works included removing the engine and gearbox and stripping the whole body, before a bare metal respray. The car was also subject to a full mechanical overhaul. This stunning car is in immaculate condition and benefits from stainless steel wire wheels, unmarked spinners, unused matching spare, stainless steel straight through exhaust system, ‘Motalita ‘steering wheel, door mirrors, top tinted windscreen, electric aerial, static style front seat belts with chrome insignia buckles, SNGB ignition system for total reliability,  original Jaguar tools and new hood that’s never been folded down.

Supplied with a history file including a current V5 registration document, previous MOT’s and other related history.

This stunning car offers the purchaser an opportunity to own what must be the ‘Best’ V12 E-Type currently on the market, which will certainly appreciate further over time.
