Beschreibung

"The best 10th birthday present that the Jaguar engineers could give the E-Type was a new lease of life. This remit was certainly fulfilled with the introduction of its robust V12 engine. It was originally destined to be the power plant in the Midland manufacturers’ saloon car range which, despite the company’s sports car heritage, was the model that Jaguar depended on for its survival. This new model E-Type was the Series III and was larger and softer in nature than its predecessor with weight distributed 53/47 and gained the long legged touring profile to which the model was arguably better suited. Robert Bell in ‘Motor’ was quoted as saying at the time that “all we expected was a new engine but what in fact we drove was a new car”. Jaguar had launched a very smooth, quiet and refined grand touring sports car.
Registered in August 1974, this Roadster version of the iconic Jaguar E-Type is presented in the original manufacturer colour of Sable with a black leather interior. The stunning looks of this car are matched by its mechanics. When requested this handsome Jaguar fired into life without hesitation. This is no surprise as this permanently garaged car comes with a file containing various invoices including specialist bills totalling £8,000 between 2011 and 2013. Although exempt from the test by age, KHP 471N has just passed an MoT and is offered to auction with a certificate valid until August 2021. Also present are over 20 years of previous MoT test certificates, a Jaguar Heritage Trace Certificate, various photographs of works completed and both the current and previous V5C registration documents. One of these, interestingly, shows that Bev Bevan, the world famous drummer of ELO and Black Sabbath fame, was a former owner. Sensibly estimated and ready to use, this Jaguar E-Type is a great example of British engineering and styling.Interested parties should note that this vehicle is offered with a spare radiator. The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day.
