Beschreibung

"The E-Type Series III was introduced in 1971, with a new 5.3 litre, V12 engine, uprated brakes and standard power steering. Optionally, an automatic transmission, wire wheels and air conditioning were available. The brand new V12 engine came with four Zenith carburettors and was claimed to produce 272bhp, more torque, and a 0-60mph acceleration of less than seven seconds, which was phenomenal for the price of the car at that time, considering its competition in the market place. The short wheelbase fixedhead coupé body style was discontinued, with the Series III available only as a convertible and 2+2 coupé. The newly used longer wheelbase now offered significantly more room in all directions. These models were easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres, four exhaust tips and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12. It is thought that only 7,990 convertibles and 7,297 fixedhead cars were produced.
Registered on 15th May 1974, this Series III E-Type is offered in its original and rare colour combination of Platinum Silver over a black leather interior. Recently the E-Type has been treated to a comprehensive restoration and has covered under 1,000 miles since. Included in the restoration was a bare metal respray and new body rubbers throughout. The underside was also weather protected to preserve the restoration. The engine has been rebuilt by a Jaguar master technician at which time new SU carburettors were fitted. Other upgrades include a high power starter motor and alternator as well as a new cooling system consisting of a Radtec aluminium radiator and high output fans, a new five-speed Tremec gearbox, KONI shock absorbers and Fosseway four-pot brake calipers, with slotted and vented discs all round.
All the brightwork has been refinished where necessary with new chrome bumpers and chrome wire wheels fitted. The interior has also been renewed, and a high quality stereo system installed to include a discreetly located amplifier and pioneer sub-woofer with mp3 and phone connection. The mohair hood has also been retrimmed and presents very well as does the hardtop that fits as it should. The extensive history file that is offered with the car includes many invoices and photographs of the restoration and a current UK V5C registration document. In good driving condition, this E-Type is offered in excellent order and is ready to be used by a new custodian."
