Produced for nearly fifteen years, the E-Type evolved through three distinct series, beginning with the 3.8-liter inline-six in the early 1960s and culminating with the introduction of the 5.3-liter V12 in the 1970s. Among collectors, the rare Series 1½, fitted with Jaguar's larger 4.2-liter six-cylinder engine, is particularly sought after. This Series 1½ E-Type 4.2 Roadster was delivered new in the United States in February 1968, finished in Pale Primrose Yellow with Black interior and soft top, according to the accompanying Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.

In the early 2000s, retaining its matching-numbers engine and body, the car underwent a meticulous, ground-up restoration in its original Pale Primrose Yellow, complemented by a tan leather interior and an elegant walnut steering wheel. The quality of the work was subsequently recognized at the Jaguar Clubs of North America concours in May 2005, where it earned an impressive 99.77-point score.

Today, this Jaguar E-Type is accompanied by a rare body-color hardtop and retains its original engine, body, chassis plate, period-correct AM/FM radio, jack and pouch, as well as a matching spare wheel and tire.
