History:
Unveiled in 1961, the Jaguar E-Type was immediately hailed as “the most beautiful car in the world” thanks to its avant-garde design by Malcolm Sayer. The introduction of the 4.2-liter engine in October 1964 marked a significant evolution of the Series 1, substantially improving torque and offering a more enjoyable driving experience. The 4,235 cc inline-six XK engine, fed by three SU carburetors, retained its 265 hp output but delivered significantly stronger acceleration. In addition, the 4.2-liter models featured a new fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission, addressing a weakness of the 3.8-liter version. Other improvements in this sub-series included new seats and a more effective braking system. The 4.2-liter Series 1 roadster is one of the most sought-after models among collectors for its balance between the pure design of the first series and its mechanical improvements. Today, it is a timeless icon of the sports car.
🇺🇲This 1967 E-Type S1 is one of the last Series 1 models produced. It was originally delivered new in the United States.
🇫🇷 It has been owned by our client for over 18 years.

Condition:
🚘 This Jaguar is in excellent condition and true to its original specifications. The Eggplant Black paint was redone in 2022 and looks stunning. Photos of the repainting process are available and demonstrate that it was done to the highest standards. The beige soft top is in excellent condition, as are the wheels, headlights, and chrome trim.
The underbody is in very sound condition, with no deformation or corrosion.
The black leather upholstery is original and has developed a certain patina. The dashboard, wooden steering wheel, and carpets are in very good condition. All gauges and dashboard instruments are functional.
🔧 The car runs perfectly, with no unusual noise or smoke. It underwent a major restoration in 2009 by Atelier des Coteaux: engine, running gear, wiring harness… Everything was redone to the highest standards, and a comprehensive file of photos and invoices documents the work performed. Since then, it has been carefully maintained.
