This lovely E Type Roadster has just arrived with us from the collection of a loyal customer who took much persuasion to part with it. On first viewing the car several months ago I was immediately struck by its “rightness”, a great stance, with perfect panel fit, and in lovely condition everywhere with great detail and no disappointing areas. Hopefully our great images from new recruit Charlie help show this.

A good look at the history file helps to explain the condition for upon returning from the U.S this complete matching numbers E Type was sent to Southern Classics who completely restored the car between 2004 and 2006 at enormous expense as detailed in extensive invoicing and illustrated by photographs on file. Following completion of the restoration only a few thousand dry summer miles have been driven, with return visits to Southern Classics as required for servicing and a few minor post resto snagging issues.

A recent drive proved that the “rightness” is more than skin deep, it never ceases to amaze me how good a well sorted E Type is on the road and this example is as good as it gets. I could go on about tightness, poise, balance etc but I’m sure you get the picture!!.

Many E Types were made but in practise it’s very hard to find a great example, especially the sweet spot S1 4.2 version at sensible money yet this is exactly what we have here.
