Beschreibung

1965 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 FHC
Registration: GPV 34C
Car Number: 1E 20415

We are delighted to present this well-documented and beautifully maintained example of a Series 1 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Fixed Head Coupe. GPV 34C is presented in excellent condition, both mechanically and cosmetically. Chassis records confirm it left the Jaguar factory in March 1965, making it a true Series 1—not a transitional “Series 1.5”—retaining the original design hallmarks including covered headlights, toggle switch dashboard, and smaller rear lights above the bumpers.

First dispatched to Henlys, London, the car was delivered via F.W. Mays & Co. of Dorking to its first owner, Mr A.G. Heaton of Beau Green, Surrey. Its odometer reads just over 101,000 miles, supported by a substantial history file with invoices dating from 2023 all the way back to 1975.

Originally finished in Opalescent Silver Blue, the car underwent a bare-metal repaint in 2018 to a rich Indigo blue. It retains its factory Dark Blue interior, which remains in well-kept original condition.

In recent years, the car has benefitted from further significant investment. Between 2022 and 2023, it was entrusted to renowned vintage specialists Hawker Racing for mechanical works totalling over £12,000. This included a top-end engine overhaul, front suspension refurbishment with replated components, and repainting of the engine frame. The car is also equipped with upgraded Cooper Craft brakes, improving drivability while remaining sympathetic to its original character.

This E-Type has also seen use in historic motoring events, including the 2016 Paris-Vienna Rally—an homage to the legendary 1902 city-to-city event—and the Harewood Hill Climb. Participation in such events is testament to the car’s mechanical strength and usability.

An early Series 1 example with excellent provenance and ongoing maintenance, GPV 34C represents a rare opportunity to acquire a well-preserved, road-ready classic that is equally at home on a concours lawn or challenging Alpine passes.
