- Fresh from a 1300-hour high level restoration
- Very desirable Series 1
- Timeless design
This Jaguar E-Type Series 1 from 1964 has the assets of the 3.8-litre car with its turned aluminium dashboard, small seats and the front and rear styling coupled with the mechanical advantages of an 4.2-litre engine and gearbox that provides a more flexible, powerful and agreeable drive. This example is superb on all levels, having benefitted from a thorough restoration carried out at a professional workshop in the Paris region. Totalling some 1300 hours of labour, the work covered the body, mechanics, interior and running gear, with results of a very high quality. The car is presented in light blue with a dark blue alpaca hood, and dark blue leather seats and carpets. Chrome 72 spoke wire wheels finish off the car perfectly.
This E-type, with its faired in lights, corresponds to one of the most highly sought after versions, before the body shape lost its purity with the introduction of bigger lights imposed by American regulations. Moreover, the 4.2-litre engine provides more torque than the earlier version while keeping the magnificent overhead twin-cam set-up. This is therefore a very interesting cabriolet-bodied example, in an impeccable condition that merits attention from every enthusiast.
