Jaguar E-Type History
The launch of the Jaguar E-Type at the Geneva Motor Show in May 1961 is still a legendary object today, it is said that Norman Dewis, Jaguar official driver, drove the brand new coupé during all night from London to Switzerland, to arrive on time at the presentation of the car.
The aeronautical engineer of the time, Malcolm Sayer, had recently developed in Jaguar, the original monocoque of the D-Type, which then won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times, between 1955 and 1957, when he received from Sir William Lyons, Chief of Jaguar, the design of a brand new car that combined the most daring aerodynamic concepts of the time, power and elegance.
Thus the first Jaguar E-Type saw come to light in 1961, a car of extraordinary beauty, not separated from a sophisticated and snobbish appearance.
The car, in convertible version, was officially presented in April of the same year at the New York Motor Show, with the aim of capturing the tastes of the market in the United States.
The first examples, built between 1961 and 1962, are wellknowed as "flat floor", due to the flat floor under the foot rest, a factor that greatly limited the space available for the driver, especially for the hell and toe technique.
When Enzo Ferrari saw it for the first time, he called it "the most beautiful car in the world" and he was right! In fact, since its first appearance on the world scene, the E-Type has perfectly embodied the concept of the spider: sporty, fast and elegant.
Unrivaled driving pleasure that has lasted for 60 years now!
The Jaguar E-Type Convertible remains one of the most admired cars ever in Concours of Elegance worldwide.

Our Jaguar E-Type
This Jaguar E-Type is presented in excellent conditions, in its original Carmen Red, a color in high contrast of absolute charm with the new cream-colored hood.
Recently restored by the brand's specialists, this Jaguar retains the same appearance of a car that has just come out of the Coventry factory, half a century old, has not in the least affected its beauty, on the contrary it almost seems to have increased its particular charm without time.
The engine, superbly restored and shining in every component, appears as if it had just come out of the factory, a real pleasure for the eyes of Jaguar fans.
This E-Type also underwent the replacement of its major components, including the new exhaust systems and tires. The shiny spoked rims are also of great suggestion and impact, which help to emphasize the snobbish charm of this Anglo-Saxon author, but with a strong racing vocation.
The internal instrumentation of the E-Type is well preserved and the wooden and metal three-rocket steering wheel is the original one. The electrical system has been completely overhauled and restored where necessary. The car also retains its original AM radio which is in perfect working order.
The door panels are compact and without cracks and the “ton sur ton” carpeting helps to increase the feeling of being comfortably reclined in a refined indoor living room.
This specimen represents today an excellent choice for the Jaguar collector looking for one of the first E-Types, but who is also thinking of a satisfying investment, a real "passion Investment", with serious indications of a revaluation over the next years.
The sound of this 6-cylinder in-line still remains today one of the most beautiful melodies for lovers of this fascinating car manufacturer.
Today it is possible to view the car online, by booking a call with one of our commercial operators, via Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp and Google Meet platforms.
