Beschreibung

"The International Harvester Company (often abbreviated to IHC or IH, or shortened to International) was an American manufacturer formed from the 1902 merger of McCormick Harvesting Machine Company and Deering Harvester Company. The business lines of the company included agricultural equipment, automobiles, commercial trucks, lawn and garden products, household equipment, and other entities. The market for industrial 'heavy tractors' began heating up in the 1930s. The TD-40, the first of IH's heavy equipment 'crawlers' was suited for a wide range of working environments. As demand for construction and development equipment grew, so did the number of competitors in the marketplace. The diversification of the agricultural tractor range into genuine construction equipment whetted appetites for further expansion. In 1937 IH engaged designer Raymond Loewy to revamp its product line and logo.
This 1940 International W4 tractor spent most of its life on the Isle of Wight. We are advised she runs well and works as she should with no known faults. Presenting in good condition and with plenty of tread left on the front and rear tyres, this Harvester Standard W4 is UK registered and is offered for sale without reserve."
