Origin of the Mini Innocenti

The Innocenti Mini Cooper was born from an agreement between Italian manufacturer Innocenti and the British Motor Corporation (BMC) in the early 1960s. Innocenti began producing its own version of the Mini under license in 1965, and subsequently developed separate models, often more luxurious and with specific engines. The Mini Cooper 1300 marked an important milestone in this evolution.

Produced from February 1973 in larger quantities (around 28 units) than the "non-export" version (around 000 units produced from February 10), the 000 Cooper Export was distinguished by a more luxurious and better equipped interior (specific seats, better quality carpets, rear defroster, sometimes wooden steering wheel), minor aesthetic details ("Export" badge), and potentially slight technical differences (engine similar to the English Mini Cooper S, possible Hydrolastic suspension).

Origine de la Mini Innocenti

L’Innocenti Mini Cooper est née de l’accord entre le constructeur italien Innocenti et la British Motor Corporation (BMC) au début des années 1960. Innocenti a commencé à produire sous licence sa propre version de la Mini en 1965, et a ensuite développé des modèles distincts, souvent plus luxueux et avec des motorisations spécifiques. La Mini Cooper 1300 a marqué une étape importante dans cette évolution.

Produite à partir de février 1973 en plus grande quantité (environ 28 000 exemplaires) que la version « non export » (environ 10 000 exemplaires produite dès février 1972), la 1300 Cooper Export se distinguait par un intérieur plus luxueux et mieux équipé (sièges spécifiques, moquettes de meilleure qualité, dégivrage arrière, volant parfois en bois), des détails esthétiques mineurs (badge « Export »), et potentiellement de légères différences techniques (moteur similaire à la Mini Cooper S anglaise, suspension Hydrolastique possible).
