Assembled by American Motors Corporation in Detroit, Michigan, this 1956 Hudson Custom is a true survivor of its era. Limitedly produced, this 1956 Hudson Custom is believed to be one of only 6512 four-door units ever produced and are a rarity in any comparable condition.

Presenting in its original blue paintwork, the Hudson custom Hornet 6 was the luxury release in its line. This example is believed to feature the Wide block 308 L6 engine, with a 262 head fitted on and is powered through a 3-speed automatic transmission.

The interior is finished in a two tone of white and navy-blue leather and showcases a fitment of chrome dials, trims and dash outlays. The seats are plush and accommodate seating for up to 6 while still offering a spacious, comfortable driving experience.

Receiving an earlier motor reconditioning, this Hudson Hornet Custom is a time capsule example of early day, mechanical excellence and today stand as highly collectible vehicles.

Between the years of 1955-1957 the American Motors Corporation (AMC) produced the Hudson Hornet as the second generation, as a re-styled Nash having been badged and engineered as a Hudson. From late 1956, the introduction of the Super and Custom series hornets were the last Hudson named vehicles before the AMC products took the Rambler name.

In 1957 these two series were available as either a four-door sedan or a two-door “Hollywood” hardtop and the second year of the V-Line styling featured a larger egg-crate grille, newly introduced creases and chrome strips running down the side of the car and fender finettes atop the rounded rear quarter panels for the 1957 model.

The XKD vin signified the export series, namely known as the unassembled import line, and were built to feature a right-hand-drive configuration.
