As car number 348 of only 500 produced, this VC 'Brock' HDT Commodore presents in its original and highly desirable colour combination of Palais White over a Red velour interior. This vehicle presents in outstanding condition; a testament to a life of meticulous maintenance and care.
Boasting a 308ci V8, this “Brock” edition carries several factory mechanical upgrades including larger valve heads, a blueprinted carburettor, Bilstein shock absorbers, a cold air induction system, a dual exhaust and more. This was topped of with the aggressive, and unmistakable HDT body kit and Irmscher wheels. Today, the car is in excellent mechanical condition and remains a pleasure to drive.
Accompanying this HDT Commodore is a history file containing documentation from HDT upon completion of upgrades and previous ownership history.
The first Brock Commodore, based on the VC model, came about as a direct result of Holden's official withdrawal from motor sport by the end of the 1979 season. Without a major sponsor, Peter Brock and the remaining Holden Dealer Team personnel had little chance of continuing until a plan was hatched to fund racing through the production of specially modified road cars, to be sold through 57 carefully selected dealers. Today, the rarity and renowned history of these cars has brought them to be one of the most desirable and collectable Australian cars ever built.
