1957 Ford Thunderbird – Manual Gearbox – Full Restoration – Original Hardtop – Known History

This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is part of the first generation, easily recognizable by its iconic porthole hardtop. It features a rare manual gearbox and has undergone a beautiful restoration.

Between 2014 and 2016, the body was disassembled and received a complete repaint in its original “Colonial White” color. The upholstery was fully redone, including the white vinyl soft top, the tonneau cover, carpets, and floor mats. All body seals were replaced, and the chrome was refurbished.

The engine is a fully rebuilt replacement unit, imported from the USA in 2016, with all accessories either new or restored. The suspension was fully overhauled, as well as the entire wiring harness, electric window motors, and the power-adjustable bench seat controls.

A list of the work carried out and many parts invoices are available, along with a full photo file of this extensive restoration.

In 2020, the owner participated in a rally in Vietnam with the car and made it more reliable for this purpose with useful upgrades such as dual fuel pumps, reinforced tires, a protective undertray, etc. These accessories are included in the sale.

After the rally, the owner had a full repaint and additional mechanical work completed (with €56,000 in invoices). The car is presented in excellent overall condition and will be sold with a valid technical inspection.
