Beschreibung

"From 1909 to 1927, the Ford Motor Company built more than 15 million Model T cars. Without a doubt, Henry Ford transformed the economic and social fabric of the 20th century. The most popular body styles were two and five-seater open touring cars; however, a very wide variety of bodies were available over the years including closed cars, vans and one tonne truck versions. Special bodies and many other parts were available from accessory suppliers so it was possible to convert your Model T car to anything from a 25 seater Charabanc or taxi to a racing car or tractor. Driving a Model T is easy; if you've never driven a conventional car. The accelerator is controlled by hand using a lever under the steering wheel. Forward gears are selected using the left of the three pedals, reverse by using the centre pedal and braking is achieved using the right pedal. Normal cruising speed is 35-40mph and fuel consumption is 20-25mpg.
This award winning and delightfully handsome Model T pick-up was owned by Grays Timber Products of Aberdeen and was used as a company promotional vehicle. Grays were bought out by Jewson Ltd in July 2003 and the vehicle was put into storage with Hampshire Classics Ltd after they collected the vehicle from Forfar in 2004. The truck remained with Hampshire Classics for a number of years before being purchased by them in 2013 with ownership being transferred to their M.D. Mark Papworth in May 2015 who remains the current owner today. This remarkably well-preserved Ford is currently 102 years old and has won a number of rosettes at shows in the past. In September 2020 Hampshire Classics had the vehicle transported to Tuckett Brothers where it underwent significant reconditioning and a couple of sensible modifications. This included a radiator repair, a conversion to 12 volts and the fitment of a new alternator. New clutch bands were also fitted. The total cost of the invoice was £2,238.60. Prior to the truck being delivered back to Hampshire Classics, Mark and his wife Linsey were given a lesson on how to drive this Model T pick-up by Mr. Tuckett, of which a video is available. This is a stand-out 1921 Model T that can be used for promotional work, exhibited at shows or displayed as office art."
