Chassis No. 2FAGP9GW5MH200243

With many cars now claiming to be a "road-legal race car," very few have accomplished the same level of technological transfer as Ford when developing the latest-generation GT. With their sights set on again winning the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans, a small but carefully selected team was assembled, which according to design director Chris Svensson was limited to "...a handful of people, including some key engineers, who had access..." This allowed for the new GT to be developed in total secrecy. Breaking cover at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, the second-generation Ford GT would enter production in 2016 following a decade long hiatus from the first generation.

Before the road-going GT would enter production and fifty years since the GT40 won the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ford would accomplish their competitive objective in the LM GTE Pro class with two Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GTs finishing first and third at Le Mans. After proving the merits of their latest model, Ford would receive a massive amount of demand, necessitating a full-blown application process for interested parties which required a taped interview and series of application questions. Despite this unusual process, the GT would receive a reported 6,500 applications, of which only 1,350 fortunate customers were selected. It is worth noting that the latest Ford GT was built in much smaller quantities than the previous generation, with less than half the examples scheduled for production many enthusiasts were left without an allocation.

With allocations for standard GTs at a premium, the demand for the limited-edition models that began after the first few years of production was unprecedented. One of the most limited of these models, of which only 20 examples were allocated for production in 2021, was the Studio Collection Series. Allowing customers to choose customizable colors to highlight key styling elements, this all-new package "invokes the emotion of speed and draws your eye to some of the most prominent features of the GT... The fuselage, buttresses, and signature features on the headlights... guiding your eye across the vehicle."

Benefitting from their later production date, Studio Collection Series GTs would include the latest upgrades equipped by Ford on all models beginning with the 2020 model year. In addition to a now standard titanium Akrapovič exhaust system producing an unmistakable exhaust tone, these cars had an upgraded engine cooling plus new gallery-cooled pistons and higher-energy ignitions coils derived from the track-only GT MK II racing car, increasing output to 660 horsepower from the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. Additional suspension tuning was also done and Ford notes that suspension damping was also increased in track mode to further enhance handling and body control, particularly for those high-speed transient sections of closed-course circuits.

A single-owner example, this 2021 Ford GT Studio Collection Series was delivered in Frozen White with Lightning Blue Studio Collection Series graphics in addition to optional blue brake calipers and Lightning Blue mirror caps. Delivering a unique appearance with distinctive Lightning Blue accents throughout the exterior, optional 20 inch forged wheels painted in gloss black complete the attractive exterior specification of this GT. Upholstered with the Dark Energy interior package, the driver-focused environment features an optional leather-wrapped F1-inspired steering wheel with anodized black aluminum shift paddles and fixed carbon fiber Sparco racing seats with adjustable pedals and steering wheels.

Offered with 170 miles at the time of cataloging, this low-mileage, single-owner example is accompanied by a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report. As one of the most talked-about and collectable supercars of the 21st century, this Ford GT is an excellent and perhaps unrepeatable opportunity for a collector to acquire one of the highly exclusive Studio Collection Series from the first and only owner with incredibly low mileage.
